What is the Intensive and Post Intensive Package?

The Couple Formula Intensive package is a two month program that begins with a two day, in-person intensive with a Couple Formula practitioner. The couple receives a 60 day post-intensive program that builds on the concepts from the intensive. The 60 days program helps build new habits of behavior and interaction to facilitate long term change. 

The Couple Formula's foundation in the psychology of attachment grounds the program first in helping the couple know themselves and each other better in the relationship dynamic. The two day intensive informs the practitioner and the couple of early attachment, family of origin, and other psychological issues that are compromising the secure functioning of the relationship. From that foundation, The Couple Formula helps the couple work toward healthy relationship functioning by introducing concepts that promote a secure attachment relationship. The couple is challenged in the sessions to do things differently and more effectively and, guided by their Couple Formula practitioner, they learn to override old unhealthy patterns and develop new ones. The couple also learns to help each other grow and change through healthy interactions of influence rather than co-dependent interactions based on fear and manipulation.

After the two day intensive, the couple follows a two month program of daily exercises to slowly build capacity in the concepts of healthy and secure attachment functioning. This includes research-backed practices that also work with nervous system regulation and brain-state integration. In the post-intensive period the couple receives two 90 minute coaching sessions with their Couple Formula practitioner to support their journey and help with any issues that arise. The program ends with a one hour session to assess the needs of the couple after the program ends.
